cpd (Check Point Daemon) is the user-mode process responsible for handling many infrastructure tasks, including:
Managing SIC communication
Handling fw CLI commands
Transferring messages between processes
Restarting daemons that fail

It is the only process referring to the secure gateway
fwd — Check Point Firewall Daemon (fwd) allows other processes, including the
kernel, to forward logs to external Log servers, as well as the Security Management
Server. It communicates with the kernel using command line tools, such as the fw
commands, kernel variables, and kernel control commands.
