Selected Answer: A
NetApp ASA systems use symmetric active-active multipathing, meaning all paths to a given LUN or NVMe namespace are Active/Optimized (no Active/Unoptimized paths). This is a key feature of ASA systems, as they optimize all paths through both controllers, improving performance and reducing failover time compared to non-ASA systems where paths are prioritized as Active/Optimized (AO) and Active/Non-Optimized (ANO). In an asymmetric configuration (pre-ONTAP 9.15.1 or if explicitly configured), the secondary site’s paths are Active/Non-Optimized (ANO) because I/O is proxied to the primary site. This would result in 4 Active/Optimized paths (from the primary cluster) and 4 Active/Unoptimized paths (from the secondary cluster). https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap/snapmirror-active-sync/index.html#benefits
